Learning is about looking at things differently

We at DPS Vapi ensure that our students learn by experimenting, exploring, designing and creating.

Subject-related activities help the students form a lasting connection among students, enhance team performance as well as provide them with exposure to the outside world. Individual activities focus on their self-perception which in return helps them foster their skills of self-reflection. This majorly enables them to evaluate their own actions and pinpoint the attributes or habits which need improvement.

To make Mathematics more engrossing Tally marks was introduced to our young minds.

Students created a frequency distribution table using tally marks. Students rolled a die 60 times and noted down the result of the number appearing on the upper face of the die each time.

Students discovered the total length of a shape, by using the perimeter formula.

They were clear with the concept that perimeter and area have a relationship, and recognize and apply their new knowledge in real-life applications.

Through the concept of weight measurement, students will gain knowledge about the weight of different objects and also learn the conversion of units of measurement.

The best way to study Environmental Science is by experimenting with it. Understanding the different political systems in Social Science was also made simpler through some practical demonstrations.

Language always plays a vital role in any curriculum, no matter which language – Hindi or English students assimilate new concepts when they listen, read, speak or write. Multiple LSRW activities were designed to enhance their linguistic skills which explicitly will help our students in improving and learning the language within their subject area. English activities like Talk Shows, Advertisements, Team building Artwork, designing self-made Pictionaries, and recreating Puppets were well conducted in their classrooms.

Subject-oriented activities held in the month of June were well designed to infuse fun into learning, boost students’ confidence and enhance their ability to think critically.
