A Cosmic Journey into the World of Books

“Open a book, and watch your imagination take flight!”

The corridors of Class 1 came alive with stories, imagination, and a touch of stardust as our young readers embarked on a spectacular Reading Fiesta during Reading Week. The celebration became even more special as parents joined their little ones, turning reading into a joyful shared experience filled with curiosity, laughter, exploration, and wonder.

The event began with an insightful address by the Principal Dr. Vidya Sanath Kumar, who spoke to parents about the importance of reading in a child’s holistic development. She highlighted how reading nurtures imagination, vocabulary, comprehension, creativity, communication, and critical thinking, while emphasising the importance DPS places on building a strong reading culture among its young learners.

The session then transformed into a delightful cosmic reading adventure, with parents joining their little astronauts as they explored a galaxy of engaging activities designed around space, language, grammar, stories, and riddles.

From “Each Space Bingo” and “Mission Articles with Spacecraft” to “Kem Cho, Earthling?” with Orion and the “Akshar Quest with Alien,” every activity turned learning into an adventure. “Comet in the Land of Opposites” and “The Galaxy of ‘S’ and ‘ES’” made language learning playful, while “Astro’s Preposition Adventure” added a fun grammatical twist.

The journey continued with “Cosmic Cooking in Satellite,” “The Milky Way’s Basket of Tales,” and “Riddles in the World of Planets,” allowing children to read, think, imagine, create, and discover alongside their parents.

The Reading Fiesta beautifully showcased that reading is not simply about words on a page—it is about opening doors to imagination and endless possibilities. The enthusiastic participation of parents made the celebration even more meaningful and memorable.

🚀 “Read a book, launch your imagination, and explore a universe of possibilities!”
