The spirit of truth, kindness, and purposeful action came alive at Delhi Public School Vapi as Class II A presented a special assembly to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti. With thoughtful narration, expressive presentations and meaningful messages, the young learners explored the timeless wisdom of Mahatma Gandhi. They discovered that his teachings are not merely words to remember, but values to practise every day.
At the heart of the assembly were the iconic Three Wise Monkeys—See No Evil, Hear No Evil and Speak No Evil. Going beyond their familiar symbolic representation, the children reflected on a deeper message: we must not simply stand by and watch when something is wrong. We must have the courage to act, choose kindness and become the change we wish to see.
The celebration continued within the classrooms through joyful, experiential activities. Students created stick puppets of the Three Wise Monkeys, bringing the characters to life while revisiting the values they represented. Another engaging activity introduced children to the significance of the Charkha, a powerful symbol associated with self-reliance, dignity of labour and Swadeshi. As the children carefully pasted sticks onto Charkha cut-outs, they transformed a simple craft into a meaningful learning experience, connecting creativity with history and values.
The celebration left the young minds with a simple yet powerful thought: Gandhian values are not meant to remain in history books—they are meant to live through our choices, our words and our actions.
“Don’t just watch the world change—be the change!”
